Summer office

What sunshine we've been having! Too warm and nice to stay inside, I moved my 'studio' outdoors >

and I now all those hours spent drawing in the sun mean my left arm is somewhat more brown than the other!

I have been busying drawing the final, refined design for the jacket.  I will create a new page with detailed drawings of this soon.  In the mean time, take a look at 'the jacket' page at the top of the blog.  I have added some more drawings from my sketchbook as the project has been developing.

Bristol's first vintage velo was yesterday.  Tom and I went off to tootle along with 120 other tweed lovin' fellows for a 10 mile cruise in the sunshine.

I also tied on lots of LNR tags to him to bring along to the party, to give out to people I got talking to and leave as little presents on their bicycles.

It was such a sunny sunday, maybe a little warm for tweed wearing but lots of fun. Hello to anyone who has found themselves here after finding one of contact tags on their bicycle.  Take a look at my other pages and please do leave a comment on this post of what you think about this project and my designs so far!  

oh what a lovely day.

The sun is shining and I wish I was outside enjoying it, flying around on my bicycle.  But instead I am behaving myself and sat with all the windows and doors open, some good music on, working on my sketchbook.

Today I am drawing out the basic design I have for the jacket and playing around with different colours and fabric samples I have.  I don't want it looking too girly.  No pretty pinks or flowers allowed. yuck.

Bristol's first Vintage Velo

One fun way to spend a lovely spring afternoon; Bristol's first Vintage Velo.  I have signed up to this with some fellow bicycle buddies, will be some fun getting dressed up in tweed and going for a rather jolly 10 mile cruise ending in cream tea and games!

I cycled along the Bristol-Bath railway route yday.  I can't believe how flat it was! Makes a nice change from Cornwall's hills.  !5 miles of flat sped by on my fixie.  Had a slight hiccup, or strike of luck when I came across The Cycle Shack in Bristol nr the path and ended up buying a rather lovely Claud Butler... so excited.

I have begun to design the jacket now which you can see on the pages near the top of the blog.  

'a little taster' shows the visual outcomes so far for this project, a small booklet and tags. 'the jacket' shows the first sketches I have drawn for the jacket I will make.  There will be more specified drawings coming in the next few days, along with samples of fabrics I have begun to collect.
