Let me introduce you to Percy

Sophie (the seamstress) for Lycra Not Required has been creating some beautiful drawings on the computer of what the latest prototype of the first LNR piece of clothing will look like.

He is called Percy, a round about town kinda lad, he will be there for you bicycle or no bicycle.  Rain or shine.  Cruising or coffees, Percy will be look rather dapper upon your back.

Any thoughts? Do leave a comment  dear readers!

PS To see more of Sophie's creations take a peek at her website http://lovelaceland.com/

The final pattern and finer details of the jacket design are being mulled over and perfected by no-one less than Sophie (lifesaver + newly appointed project buddy!) TAKE A LOOK: http://lovelaceland.com/.

And so we ordered the goods in; threads, fabrics, buttons... oh and even some Swarovski crystals.  It's going to look amazing.

I've been a busy bee.

It's been a long time since my last post but have been a busy bee making and creating.  I thought I would share with you all the process of screen printing.  For the jacket there are labels and patterns to create for the fabrics and a lovely way to achieve this for the prototype (plus enjoy the final few weeks of my degree!) has been screen printing, or foiling.  So instead of pulling ink through the silk screen you pull a special glue through....

....then, well, click on the page at the top saying 'printing' and you'll find more photos there.

Summer office

What sunshine we've been having! Too warm and nice to stay inside, I moved my 'studio' outdoors >
and I now all those hours spent drawing in the sun mean my left arm is somewhat more brown than the other!

I have been busying drawing the final, refined design for the jacket.  I will create a new page with detailed drawings of this soon.  In the mean time, take a look at 'the jacket' page at the top of the blog.  I have added some more drawings from my sketchbook as the project has been developing.

Let me know what you think, just leave a comment with some thoughts.  I would greatly appreciate it!

velo love

Bristol's first vintage velo was yesterday.  Tom and I went off to tootle along with 120 other tweed lovin' fellows for a 10 mile cruise in the sunshine.

I spent the afternoon before tarting up Claud for the event >

I also tied on lots of LNR tags to him to bring along to the party, to give out to people I got talking to and leave as little presents on their bicycles.

It was such a sunny sunday, maybe a little warm for tweed wearing but lots of fun. Hello to anyone who has found themselves here after finding one of contact tags on their bicycle.  Take a look at my other pages and please do leave a comment on this post of what you think about this project and my designs so far!
